Carlos Hank González
Carlos Hank González was born
on August 28, 1927 in Santiago Tianguistenco, State of Mexico. He was a primary
teacher, politician, PRI, president of Santiago Tianguistenco and governor of
the State of Mexico.
He began as Director of
Secondary Education during the government of Salvador Sánchez Colín, then
Treasurer of the City of Toluca and in 1955 was Municipal President of Toluca
until 1957.
He was recognized for his
systems of travel axes, continuation of the subway works, the construction of
Central de Abasto in Mexico City and the urbanization of Nezahualcóyotl and
Cuautitlán.
Currently there is a statue in
Santiago Tianguistenco, same place where Lic. Benito Juarez Elementary gives a
sweatshirt to students every year thanks to Hank's influences.
He died on August 11, 2001 in
Santiago Tianguistenco, Mexico.
